Giving Back

Giving Back is at the Core of Who We Are

At Puppington, we value philanthropy and giving back, from coast to coast—and beyond. We've been deeply honored to support many remarkable projects and organizations.

On October 5, 2024, we sponsored Barks & Brunch, an event benefiting NYC Second Chance Rescue, a foster-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue. They rescue and rehabilitate critically injured and neglected dogs and cats, as well as those at high risk of euthanasia. Since their inception in 2009, they have saved over 15,000 lives.

In the past, we have proudly supported:

  • Special Olympics NY athletes and their service dogs, recognizing the unique bond they share. 🏆 The Special Olympics holds over 100,000 events each year for children and adults with intellectual & physical disabilities all over the world. Did you know that many of the 5 million plus Special Olympics athletes are accompanied by their service dogs? These special pups assist their humans in ways that only a dog possibly can.
  • A charity auction that raised over $2,000 for Color of Change and United Negro College Fund. Color of Change advocates for racial justice by championing solutions that equip decision-makers in corporations and government to create a more human and less hostile world for black people in America.  Color of Change focuses on designing strategies powerful enough to fight racism and injustice—in politics and culture, in the work place and the economy, in criminal justice and community life, and wherever they exist.  UNCF, the United Negro College Fund, also known as the United Fund, is an American philanthropic organization that funds scholarships for black students to help them thrive, graduate, and become leaders.  UNCF awards more than 10,000 students scholarships, worth more than $100 million, each year and advocates for the importance of minority education and community engagement.
  • The film SuperBois, which advocates for people with special needs and rescue dogs. Award-winning filmmaker Jon Mancinetti created another passion project that advocated for people with special needs and rescue dogs. His previous film raised over $50K to help more than 25 non-profits across the country save rescue dogs! jon told a special story about his brother Joel and their love for making movies together. SuperBois honored the unique contribution a person with a developmental disability can make in our lives and showcased how shelter dogs can positively impact a family with special needs. The film also starred Jon’s beloved rescue dog, Smokey đŸ¶. SuperBois was screened at film festivals across the United States and became available to stream shortly after!
  • Korean K9 Rescue, a No-Kill 501(c)(3) nonprofit that saves dogs from the meat trade, puppy mills, and high-kill shelters in South Korea. Due to the stigma associated with mixed breed and "dog meat farm" dogs, most dogs have a low chance of being adopted in South Korea. Korean K9 transports these dogs to the United States and finds loving forever homes for them. In the process, they are able to spread awareness about the brutal dog meat trade and be a voice for the voiceless dogs that are still suffering in the meat trade.

In our own community, we are proud sponsors of the New Castle Baseball and Softball Association, our local little league teams.  NCBSA is an all volunteer organization, and administers baseball and softball programs for boys and girls. Each year, up to 50 teams with 600 children annually, participate in the Spring, Summer and Fall programs.

At Puppington, our mission isn't just about products; it's about building a better world for everyone, one pawprint at a time.

We jump at opportunites to give back and want to help our community do the same. We now use a technology that makes it easy for our customers to support relief efforts when they shop with us. By matching their donations, we amplify their impact.

In our outreach initiatives, we spotlight a rotating array of causes close to the hearts of our community, employees, and customers. These include essential organizations such as:

  • The Trevor Project
  • United Negro College Fund
  • American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA)
  • 4 Paws for Ability
  • Human Rights Campaign Foundation
  • Wounded Warrior Project

and more.
